The Miami Area Economic Development Service, Inc. is a regional leader in imagination, innovation and implementation for our local businesses, entrepreneurs, and potential partners in the Miami region.

A vibrant economy is the result of deliberate choices and actions. All communities need an organization that wakes up every day charged with improving the health of the local economy. That's what economic developers and economic development organizations do.

MAEDS utilizes our region’s resources -- land, labor, and capital -- in the most efficient manner to make it easier and more attractive to do business with our community. We accomplish that goal through five strategic areas of focus:

  1. Business retention and expansion.
  2. Workforce development.
  3. Collaboration with local city, county, and tribal governments to enhance communication and partnership.
  4. Revenue growth.
  5. Recruitment of new business.

By focusing on those five strategic areas of focus, MAEDS can achieve its mission of assisting existing and attracting new business and industry to create expanded employment for our region, resulting in an improved quality of life.

MAEDS administers a revolving loan program that was initially funded at $4.6 million. Currently, the organization has loaned approximately $17 million. A six-member Revolving Loan Fund Committee, formed by MAEDS, is responsible for the review of all loan applications submitted and monitoring existing loans.
